Celebrity chef cooks up a storm with Esprit homeowners in Poole

A celebrity chef helped our Esprit homeowners to whip up a host of culinary creations at their Poole retirement community during a special event.

Lesley Waters, who has appeared on Ready, Steady, Cook, and This Morning, joined our homeowners, who are aged 55 and over, in the bistro at Esprit, based in High Street North, in Poole town centre. Lesley taught them how to cook and serve up a range of dishes which they can re-create for friends and family.

Items on the menu included gin and lemon-soaked salmon, blue vinny cheese galette, Dorset betty with apple syllabub, and mushroom and blue vinny puddings.

The ‘Afternoon with Lesley Waters’ event offered our homeowners the opportunity to get together and learn some new cooking techniques, as well as hearing more about Lesley’s illustrious career, which includes running a Dorset-based cookery school.

The event was part of a varied weekly programme of activities that our homeowners enjoy enabling them to socialise together. Esprit’s bistro and communal lounge have played host to a range of events including live music, supper clubs, coffee mornings and quizzes.
