For our homeowners, retirement doesn’t have to be about taking it easy. When you move to one of our over 55s communities, you’ll find plenty to keep you busy, with opportunities to make new friends.

Platinum Skies turns old-fashioned ideas about retirement living upside down. You know that old joke about being so busy now you’re retired, you wonder how you ever had time for work? That’s something our residents experience all the time! We’re delighted that 97% of new our homeowners said they have made a new friend since moving to Platinum Skies*.

Our communities reflect the personality, warmth and spirit of our homeowners. Community is forged by our homeowners coming together, with the support of our Community Managers, to provide friendship, fun and laughter, along with support and compassion when times are hard.

Everyone is free to take part in as much or as little as they’d like, but it’s wonderful to know that there’s opportunities to try new crafts or exercise, join a book club, or simply meet up with a neighbour for a coffee whenever you want to, without having to go far to do so – everything’s on your doorstep, and a new social life is there for the taking.

Fantastic spaces for socialising, events and activities

Each Platinum Skies community has a range of communal facilities, exclusively for our homeowners to use. These spaces provide the perfect venue for the classes, film afternoons, supper clubs and parties held regularly on site.

• Exclusive bistro & bar – Indulge in delicious food and drinks within our larger communities.
• Homeowners’ lounge – Enjoy coffees with friends or just settle into the sofa with a crossword puzzle.
• Activity and treatment rooms – Art classes, Pilates, a blissful massage… there’s no shortage of things to enjoy. The activity room provides a large versatile space with many uses – all within the community itself.
• Communal gardens – Enjoy spending time in our beautifully maintained gardens. The gardens are cared for by a team of professional gardeners, leaving you free to enjoy pottering if you’d like to.
• Guest suites – At some of our properties you can invite friends or family to stay on-site. It’s the perfect place to have guests, without having guests!

Our community managers are always here

At every one of our retirement villages, you’ll find at least one friendly Community Manager. They’re warm and welcoming and are there to help you find your place in the community. You can always rely on our Community Managers to help you day-to-day.

• Organising events to bring the community together. They’re experts in planning a range of events and activities. The options are endless, but there’s supper clubs, games and quiz nights, art and exercise classes and much more.
• Supporting our new homeowners settling into their home. They’ve already helped lots of other homeowners through the move-in process, so are on hand with tips, information and details to help you feel at home as quickly as possible.
• Provide help, advice and support with your home, community and local area. It’s always helpful to know what day the market’s on, or which bus to take to the shops, and our Community Managers are a great source of local knowledge that they’re happy to share.
• Facilitating community groups and clubs to organise activities and events. As well as organising events and activities themselves, some of our communities have their own social groups, who arrange a whole host of entertainment and trips out.
• Connecting our homeowners to the services and facilities in the local community. Moving somewhere new is exciting, but you might need to find a new hairdressers or doctor’s surgery, hire a cleaner, or find out the best taxi company to use – our Community team can help with all of this to make sure you’re feeling settled in your new town.
