‘Continued desire’ for retirement living sees launch of innovative retirement living open week

Over the past few months, a host of new homeowners have been welcomed into our communities. With property viewings allowed under the government’s social restrictions, we have worked hard to ensure customers can still make their home move aspirations come to life through Covid-secure in-person viewings, and remote online tours.

Throughout each lockdown we have had lots of people contacting us about wanting to make the move to a happier, healthier and independent life in one of our homes, with the bonus of making friends and being able to keep in contact with the other homeowners.

Retirement living open week

We’re currently running an open week which ends this Sunday, January 31. At this event, over-55s can choose from a host of apartments, houses and cottages in a range of locations across the south west. In line with government policy, Covid-safe tours can be conducted in person or online from the safety and security of the viewer’s own home.

Prospective buyers can book an online virtual tour of a potential new home in Poole, Sherborne and Salisbury, which are provided as part of a government-backed shared ownership scheme. Commonly known as part-buy, part-rent, the shared ownership scheme means that instead of purchasing a home outright, homeowners buy a property for typically around 50-per-cent of its full market value, freeing up money to use on other life events. Prices start at £115,000.

Each property enables the homeowners to live independently in their own home, with the benefit of a dedicated onsite Lifestyle Manager, who organises activities for the homeowners in the communal areas, as well as providing wellbeing and practical support.
