Public invited to learn about lifestyle offering at Platinum Skies Taunton

We are inviting the public to learn more during our open week about the lifestyle that we will offer at a new independent-living community in Taunton later this month.

The special event takes place from Monday 20 to Sunday 26 September at the Taunton community based in Paul Street in the town centre. Quantock House comprises of a luxury apartment complex with purpose-built one and two-bedroom apartments for people aged 55 and over who are looking to live amongst like-minded people who can socialise together.

Apartments within Quantock House are now available to purchase off-plan featuring energy-saving appliances in the kitchens, step-free showers in the bathrooms, and secure onsite underground parking. Communal facilities in the village include a bistro, bar area, homeowners’ lounges, activity room, visitor’s suite, and treatment room.

A dedicated onsite Community Manager for Taunton will organise events and trips out for the homeowners, once construction is completed on Quantock House, as well as providing practical and emotional support.

Rita Swann, 90, says that she has never looked back since moving to her apartment within a friendly community. She said: “My flat was really too large and I was too isolated, so I decided that I needed to look for somewhere with a nice apartment and a lifestyle so that I could continue to be active and be with friends.

“I have found it at Platinum Skies as not only are the apartments lovely and I’ve got a lovely view which I’m very fortunate about that, but also there’s the other people. Everyone is so relaxed and so happy. It’s just a joy to be with them because we have so many laughs.

She added: “I’ve just turned 90 and I’ve started doing Pilates twice a week and I also play table tennis in the evening with the two of my neighbours. Life is just so good here.”
