Platinum Skies hosts launch party for Quantock House Taunton community

We had a fantastic, fun filled launch event for one of our newest communities, Quantock House in Taunton, at the end of April.

Invited guests included our Quantock House homeowners, and stakeholders from local Taunton-based businesses who enjoyed drinks, a light lunch, and live music.

Quantock House officially opened by the mayor of Taunton

The Mayor of Taunton, Cllr Sue Lees, who is visually-impaired, was our VIP guest on the day, who took a tour led by James Davies, Co-Managing Director of Platinum Skies and Jes Gill, Senior Relationship Manager, of two apartments on the top floor of Quantock House, where she enjoyed the expansive views across the Quantock Hill. She also took a tour of our communal facilities which include a bistro and bar, activity room, homeowners’ lounge, and treatment room.

She was blown away by the togetherness of our Taunton homeowners, as well as the design concept of each apartment being made accessible as standard. Hence, it suits the homeowner now and into the future.

The Mayor of Taunton, Cllr Sue Lees, said: “I wish that I could move in tomorrow. It is absolutely wonderful and the views over Taunton from the top floor are just something else. I’ve had an amazing tour of the community and I am so impressed with every detail as you have thought of everything. I think anybody that moves in here is going to have a wonderful life.”

What is it like living at Quantock House in Taunton?

The Mayor also met several homeowners who told her about their experience since moving into Quantock House, including our first Taunton homeowner, Ian Mackenzie.

Speaking about the event, he said: “It was a smashing day. It meant that all of the newer homeowners were brought together to meet their neighbours and there was a good mix of people. The whole event was very enjoyable.

“I’m very happy here. For me in my circumstances, it’s the ideal scenario. It seems that my children are very happy with me being here as well, and I’ve made lots of good friends already.”

Another homeowner, Wendy Del Grosso, and her husband, Len, also made time to chat to The Mayor about how happy they are to have made the move to our community.

Following the event, Wendy said: “It was a wonderful experience and everybody had put their heart and soul into making this event very special for us. We got a lot out of it and it was a lovely to get together. Cassie and Hazel, our Community Managers, worked their socks off. We proud to have them as our Community Managers. We feel very blessed.

“We absolutely love it here. We have managed to start a games afternoon twice a week and I’m going to start some film nights too. We’re all trying to work together to make this a wonderful place and we class our neighbours as friends now. We’ve only been here three months, but as new people come in, I like to class them as good friends and it has been a great experience.”
